Class 57
The new Farish Class 57 is a great improvement on the old model, however it's not really a 57, more a sort of 47/57 hybrid. The bodyside steps are plated over (class 57) but the GM roof panels are missing (Class 47) and it has the original bufferbeam cowling (Class 47).Description
The new Farish Class 57 is a great improvement on the old model, however it's not really a 57, more a sort of 47/57 hybrid. The bodyside steps are plated over (class 57) but the GM roof panels are missing (Class 47) and it has the original bufferbeam cowling (Class 47).
Remove the bufferbeam cowls, and some of the body around the bottom of the cab sides. Comparision with 37 and 56 bodies and various wagons showed that the buffers were at least 1mm too low, so these were repositioned. The Farish rapido style couplers were removed and replaced with Micro-Trains 1129 couplers, this involved a bit of filing at the top and bottom of the coupler pocket.
