Class 60

This model is constructed from the TPM kit.

Description

This model is my first attempt at a loco kit since a very poor attempt at a PDMarsh Class 56 in 1989 - things have certainly moved on since then - and this kit is very simple to assemble. It uses a Life-like E6 chassis, or rather uses the components from that chassis - the motor, gear towers and bogies. Following the instructions I placed the Lenz 521 DCC chip in fuel tank area of the chassis. KATO couplers are fitted. Below are some pictures of construction.

July Update

I haven't been very happy with the running of the lifelike chassis, no matter how much blu-tac I stuck in the bodyshell the gear towers were still failing to engage with the worms at one end or the other. This meant that the motor was (presumably) "over-revving" and the decoder was getting extremely hot, so I've replaced the Life-like chassis with one from a new Farish Class 50. I've also finally added transfers (Fox) to the model.
