Updates

03/08/2005

Changed the DCC pages, principally to show decoder installations and include my ÖBB and US locos [more]

16/04/2005

Managed to find the time to complete the lighting on a 37 and 57 - I'm very pleased with the results. This burst of activity was inspired by the acquisition of a Sprog II and DecoderPro - more on the DCC pages soon.

Our daughter arrived at the end of November, and despite my best efforts up to that point I'm nowhere near having a working layout! I'm looking at alternative plans for a layout that I can at least get running given my new responsibilities. I've taken apart Canon's Road and will shortly be reorganising this website. Over the last few days I've been attempting to add lighting to my 57s and 37s, I'll be putting a description of this here shortly.

Quick precis of "activity" since the last update: Class 60 is more or less complete, a second rake of Freightliners have had the TPM treatment, I've repainted the beginnings of a rake of Murco/CAIB bogie tank wagons, slow progress on bogies for Warwells, Warflats and Nthusiast Resprays FAAs, picked up a few lorries and a TPM VDA at a Bristol Fair, moved Canon's Road into the loft, got a puppy then promptly discovered that we're expecting a baby at the end of the year. A rethink of the layout is on the cards - I will produce some updates soon.

12/04/2004

This Bank Holiday Monday saw me take a break from stripping 1980's vinyl wallpaper to do some work on Canon's Road, there are some updated photos in the Layouts section [more]

28/02/2004

Added a contact page. Started adding transfers to 60075. Updated the Layout page, including track plans. [more]

08/02/2004

Changed the header images for these pages. Fitted decoders in all locomotives apart from the 08, including my latest - a Class 60 built from the TPM kit [more]

04/02/2004

I've relaid my test track, using Peco Code 55, mainly so I could experiment with soldering and lengths of rail before laying curves - details should appear at the weekend. In the meantime I've updated the DCC pages [more]

01/02/2004

Uploaded a newer version of the site and altered the metadata. There are a couple of new photos on the Vehicles page. I'm planning to re-jig my test track including installing a fixed power socket (rather than leads with crocodile clips) and relaying the track to include a turnout and stub siding. Then I'm going to have a go at installing a decoder in my Class 37.

21/01/2004

Finished up my stock of Kato knuckle couplers, having added them to 11 MFAs, 5 Freightliner flats (including an extended pocket for the outer wagons) and 1 each on 2 of my Peco TTBs. To be honest the TTBs are quite close coupling anyway, so I'll probably leave them and marshall the rake with Kato couplers at each end. [more]

16/01/2004

I've revamped all the railway pages, but have to ftp them up to the server. I also deleted some superfluous pages.

11/01/2004

Completed construction and painting of a scratchbuilt British Army Warrior MCV to go on a mooted MOD train. It took about 10 hours to complete so I think my plan to have half a dozen isn't unrealistic. Also completed the Army Land Rover Wolf I started over Christmas, and tidied up the Bedford MK 4 tonne Army Truck I bought in Cardiff in 1991. I'm looking at the practicality of converting some Wiking mercedes lorries into the more recent Leyland DAF 4 tonners, it looks like the cab from their older Mercedes Artic might be more suitable.
